Yeah, those auto mechanics are hot for Snap-On. I knew guys that worked for $10/hour and had a $3000 Snap-On tool box, just the box mind you. Snap-On makes some good stuff, but most is way overpriced, especially their hand tools. Too thin, too slippery to hold on to, and that nice shiny chrome finish makes it worse.
For most Phillips-type screws you need a JIS screw driver. Japanese Industry Standard. That's why Phillips-type screw drivers will cam out of a lot of Phillips-type screws, they're actually JIS screws.
