I would check voltage at the panel where you are connecting new circuit. make sure it is in the 120+ range. If much below 120, you should think about the #6 wire.
/\This... or just do it once, labor is expensive, and just buy and pull 6 gauge copper. Not worth the risk of voltage drop on expensive equipment like A/Cs or microwaves. Low voltage kills them quickly.
