Your set-up will work great but what solar controller will you have? It is worth the extra money ($35 vs $15 on eBay) to get a good one like the Solar30 instead of the cheaper ones that do not have an adjustable voltage or a display.
You will like being able to choose your own Float Voltage for the ambient temp in effect when you are not there. That temp you choose will then be the "nominal" for the "temperature compensation" most controllers have.
