Any feedback from the supplier as to why his cheaper units don't parallel? Sounds like an up-sell ploy to me.
Every email I 've had with him has been an upsell to the big unit being needed. ;-)
Maybe he needs the added income for money to race his boats? it is an expensive hobby... speed costs, how fast do you want to go, or do you want to subsidize his hobby? ;)
As mex wanderer said, relay timer the lower voltage bulk mode one, when it times out, relay timer the second, higher voltage desulphate model one as the 2nd stage.
2nd stage need only be done every 10-14 days if dry camping in the shade, or if without solar panel or other manual equalize charge methods.
As mex said, this is serious stuff, not for rookies or amateurs. Do I think I could get the settings right? I think so.
GC2 batteries paired, need to see 15.0V daily. Program accordingly. Possibly required for any industrial use lead acid battery with 5% antimony content in the plates, too?
Give them 15.5V or better yet. 15.7V to 16.0V to equalize cells, every 10-14 days.
Program them the way YOU want them, to suit your individual needs... but you better understand your batteries and what they truly need to live a long long life, better than 99.9999% of the rest of North America.
