I Always thought "Syncing" meant devices talking to each other, or in the case of generators, dynamo..etc..
The outputs ere in SYNC wave form wise
I thought parallel meant working in tandem sharing the load
Not exactly the same exact meaning, but often the same results, depending on the devices being used
