- Dutch_12078Explorer IIFor sound level reference, the National Park Service requirement is 60 dB(A) or less at 50 feet for motorized equipment including generators.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerTry MANGANESE SQUARE CHAIN and an AMERICAN high Security padlock. These chains eat 36" Rigid boltcutters for lunch and will snap a cutting disc to shreds. Heat it white hot then press the oxygen and it laughs.
The cost of manganese square chain is a knee knocker and a high security padlock is around 50 dollars.
My genshed has that minesweeper K monel door and combing so they're not getting in that way. The batteries have to be removed before the Kubota would exit. I used 6 sack cement formula so it's like chopping through basalt. - 2oldmanExplorer II

Yes, the heavier the better for theft deterrent. I had the misfortune of having two 2000's stolen. Cut through my lock like butter.
After the loss (by theft) of my Yamaha, I had a "cage" built for it. It could still be taken--but it would take a bit of time. - DrewEExplorer II

The Honda EU7000is is 263 lbs, for comparison's sake...and $4600 or so to buy. - bikendanExplorer67db is not quiet. I have a cheap Champion 3500w/4000w open frame contractor-style generator that is slightly quieter and it is NOT appropriate for campground usage.
For home power, desert or auto racing, this generator is great. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi 2oldman,
After 100 lbs--it doesn't matter if it is 500. I'm not going to be picking it up. After the loss (by theft) of my Yamaha, I had a "cage" built for it. It could still be taken--but it would take a bit of time. - 2oldmanExplorer IIAt only 257lb.
- LwiddisExplorer IIOnly 67 dB? Pretty good.
