WHY would there be a HDMI cable output on a soundbar? I have never seen one with anything other than Optical and RCA audio. Doug

My system is a JBL Cinema SB400
"ARC" stands for audio return channel and functions in place of an optical connection, but requires an "HDMI ARC" input on the TV replacing the use of the optical.
HDMI connectivity:
With three HDMI inputs, the Cinema SB 400 provides convenient connection for multiple HDMI source
components. It also includes one HDMI output with Audio Return Channel (ARC), which sends the TV sound
back to the soundbar. This simplifies switching and makes the system easier to use.
