It it was me, I would just use UF-B (underground feeder cable, direct burial). No need for conduit. Just dig a trench, if the trench is rocky, put in some sand for bedding, lay in the cable and cover it up. There will be many posts saying how much better it will be in conduit, but UF-B is designed to be directly buried, not to be put into conduit. I would guess millions of miles of it has been laid without conduit, and the lights around the world still work. The KISS (keep it simple, stupid) principle works for me.
