fischer i agree, and i do have the owner's manuel #888. but what puzzel's me is once you unplug the 4-way you have now isolated the step, doorjamb magnet switch, entry step switch, power module everything to do with that step from the vehicle side, excuse me the entry step switch does get power from vehicle side prior to the 4-way but i changed that with no luck.:h
