If you are trying to use electricity while plugged in AND using the generator at the same time the RV will always default to the "higher" current - in this case being plugged in
Now...if you have the built in generator and are saying that the rearAC will not work while on generator power only some RV's don't have a transfer switch (which I believe applies to you) therefore you will have to plug the RV directly into the generator
