I remounted my spare to make more space for the bicycles. The tire now sits on top of the bumper held in place with some C-channel steel from Home Depot. Used the existing square bolts to attach the steel to the forward side of the bumper. Then some threaded rod to attach the tire. Threaded rod is same size and thread as the studs in the hubs to use a standard lug nut to hold the wheel on. My tires are not 90 pounds but it has been resting nicely there for a decade and 30,000+ miles.
