Rear Leveling Jacks will not extend

I have a 2011 Passport 2910bh and my rear electric leveling jacks are not working. Seems like a fuse or some other electrical issue. The RV has power and all circuits/fuses are fine. Is there an inline fuse or reset button on the jacks themselves? Completely dead

  • On my 5th wheel, the hand crank place to attach the handle to is on the driver's side and the electric motor is on the passenger side. When mine did the "freeze" up routine, it was because I had gotten water inside the motor while driving in the rain. somehow it got in under the cover and ruined the motor. Probably took less than 30 minutes for me to replace. I caulked the new one around the rubber cover and it has worked for the last year just fine. Sometimes I have heard of them freezin up from a need for lubricant on the connecting bar that attaches both sides together.

Could be jammed in closed position....have your tried to manually crank down and then use electric?

I think that’s exactly what happened...once I "jiggled" the legs from both sides it worked. How do I manually crank them down. I don’t see anywhere to attach the manual crank. Do I take the black rubber cover of the end of the motor?

My manual crank is a hex head bolt on opposite side vs on motor side.

You need to check how your stabilizers are configured.....and see if you have info in a manual.
But motor driven stabilizers should have a manual means of operating them.
  • I don't know about your jacks but just a note to be careful.

A camper down from us had a similar problem with his landing gear and when he went to manually crank them down the circuit was still powered. Just the minor assist caused the crank handle to spin and almost broke his arm when it kicked in.

  • Could be overloading if you are using them to 'level' vs 'stabilize' trailer.

Rear 'stabilizer' jacks should be wired directly from battery so look for an in-line fuse or a DC circuit breaker (small box with two studs/wire on studs).
Fuse could be blown or DC breaker needs reset (small button on side of box).

Follow positive cable from battery....small wire....under trailer tongue/frame
