hydraulic leveling jacks will not extend

The clicking noise is definately coming from the relay. You can actually feel it. I've ordered one and should receive it in a couple of days. I hope that cures my hyd pump problem. If not, I'm only out 40 bucks and will have a spare!. But then I will be without a clue. We'll see....

The clicking that is changing locations that you're referring too is probably the directional valves opening to let oil to the respective jacks that you are attempting to lower. However, as the pump is not activating, there is no fluid being sent through the system to lower the jacks. As others have speculated, I'd say that the problem is that your pump is not getting power. After all, you certainly would hear the pump come on if it was operating correctly.

That click is indeed the solenoid on the pump. The solenoid is NOT closing. You will have 2 large cables on the solenoid. 1 is the battery feed, the other is to the electric pump motor. JUMP across those 2 terminals with a heavy screwdriver. The pump should activate. Stop when the pump activates. There are 2 other small wires on the solenoid. 1 will have constant 12 volt positive when the system is turned on and the other will have negative(ground) when you activate one of the jack levers. Have someone activate a jack lever and you be at the pump. See if that click is from that solenoid. If it is, then replace that solenoid if jumping the 2 large activates the motor. It is possible you have a bad motor, but jumping those 2 large will tell you that as long as the battery side has good 12 volt positive. Doug

Thanks for input. I found operators manual and it is 225 series leveling system. I think it is lack of power to pump also. Now I have some scematics I should be able to check grounds and the inline fuses.That would be an easy inexpensive fix so I've got my fingers crossed. Thanks again!

Sounds like you may have no power to the pump.
What brand of levelers do you have? It should be on the operator plate.
Look for the pump. There could be an in-line fuse. Locate your battery control center. There could be a fuse there.

I'm not sure if it was Lippert, but there was a recent post about poor grounds on the pump. The pump was grounded via it's attachment bolts which become corroded. Find the pump, use a set of jumper cables and jump from the frame to some metal on the pump motor and try again. Obviously, if it works you need to make sure the ground is cleaned up or a ground strap is added.

Check and clean all the electrical connections.

The Lippert trouble shooting guide indicates the majority of leveler and slide out complaints are the result of a poor ground connection. Regardless of the brand of your lifters the electrical connections would be a good DIY starting point.

Look for other fuses and breakers. The 5 amp fuse on the floor plate may be just for power to the switch. You probably have other fuses for the hydraulic pump someplace. Your owners manual may be able to tell you where. That is the limit of my mechanical ability. If it isn't the breaker or a fuse, I'm stuck!
