Red/Green Propane Indicator Problem

The indicator is all red and won't go green either side with both tanks full. No gas getting to appliances. Tried the air purge thing with the stove but just burned off the last of the gas in the lines I think. Low flame on High, then no flame. No gas for fridge, WH, or furnace either.

Is there a way to free up the regulator thing? I see it has a spring on top of the red under glass. Maybe remove a hose and put it back on? (Banging it with a hammer doesn't work :) ) ISTR I have read here the side hoses to the tanks have valves in them? Can they get stuck shut?

Before I take it all apart and put it back together, perhaps making things worse, any ideas? Thanks.

  • Turn both tank valves OFF. Leave in that position for 10 minutes. SLOWLY, that is S-L-O-W-L-Y, open the one tank valve that is feeding the system. Then SLOWLY open the other tank valve.

The tank valves will automatically close if opened to fast as a quick, fast flow of propane resembles a broken line and for safety the valve closes even though it appears open.
