I had one of those 1 gallon tanks for many years and never had any issue getting it refilled anywhere, even at campgrounds. Finally a campground did warn me that it was well out of certification so I bought a new 2 gallon tank at Murdochs and dropped the old one off at a propane dealer for recycling.
