Remote Awning

What makes a remote awning remote? Can I add this feature to my existing non remote electric awning? Is there a kit available?

Thanks

Couple sites away huge awning was about to break off. I went out there but the closer neighbors already check it out.
It was one of those awnings with remote inside and with locked doors we could not close it.

No remotes required. Just put it up, stake and tie it down, put on some deflappers, and forget about it.

Actually had a storm come up last October and it took a some 60+ mph gusts without any ill effects.
  • i do not think there is a kit for it but if you are any good at wiring electronics a remote switch can be added to just about anything. the relays in these remote switches would be hooked up in parallel to your current in-out switch and to 12v power that should be available at your current switch. it would not effect the operation of the current switch. the first one would work but i like the one from ebay with the remote storage brackets. wireless switch 1 or wireless switch 2 the other remote in above post is expensive though RV Intelligence JAS30

I bought inflatable mattress and it come with wireless remote.
Bare in mind the manual switch is 10 inches from my head when I sleep on it.
Couple months ago we were camping on the beach, when sudden wind picked up.

The owners come with the boat at evening. The awning survived, but barely.
