- pdoggExplorerI'm on my 2nd fifth wheel, and have replaced more roof vents and such that have rotted away than I care to think of.. I can't imagine the nightmare it would be to try to peel away eternabond..
Of course living in Arizona the sun here cooks these things very hard.. - BobboExplorer IIMainly, it is the endcaps that I want to seal. Good to know about the other areas needing access for repairs sometimes.
- AlmotExplorer IIIWell, I don't know whether it was a Dicor around the bottom of my antenna mount, but probably so. I removed the antenna mount to install solar panel, and cleaned the area with Methanol (aka Methyl Hydrate). Alcohol stove fuel. Painters use it for cleaning metal and other surfaces. Sells here in Home Depot and Canadian Tire store, in the US - don't know. I wrote about this - it dissolved my Dicor or whatever that sealant was. Gives out a nasty smell while dissolving, so try not to breathe in much.
- pdoggExplorerUse a putty knife and lots of patience.. beware of using Eternabond tape on a roof fixture you may want to replace some day such as sewer and air vents. Dicor in these cases is much easier to remove and replace. The tape is fine for roof seams, or permanent sealing of endcaps, etc..
- CA_TravelerExplorer IIIUse a propane torch to warm (to hot to touch) up a putty knife.
