Renogy 100 watt kits (not suticase)

Does anyone know if the 100w kits from renogy have the cables that connect to the batteries? I may be overlooking it, but when I look at the kits online, I see where they have teh panel, a controller and wiring. I assume the wiring is for between panel and controller and not between charger and battery. Is that something seperate that would be needed?

I guess that is one of the perks with the suitcase set as they have the wiring with the battery clamps with them.
  • Watch for sales at both Amazon and Renogy.com. I bought my extra 30 watt and a few days lit went on sale. Also, look for free shipping, Renogy has free shipping all the time.
  • Harvey, not only is it under 6 amps, but it starts out as almost 20 volts, and only has to end up as 13 or so volts. I have the Renogy 100w bendable panels and I love them, and when I set them out in the sun I run 12awg WELL over 50 feet (I won't admit how far). Key point is there is still plenty of voltage left to account for PWM losses and still provide 13+ volts of charging power from a dumb ol PWM.

Personally, I only feel stupid when I look at my FlexMax 80 MPPT sitting unused, and think of how many beers I could have bought with the money I paid for that boat anchor. PWM!!
  • Looks like the one I got on Amazon.

It came with a pair of cables that easily ran from roof to the battery compartment area in the motorhome. Of course I connected them to the included PWM controller. I just used AWG 12 wires for the short distance from controller to batteries. Others will shudder at such light wire but it's only 6 amps at most and as heavy as the charging wires stretching the length of the MH to charge from the engine.
  • I have the 100 watt suitcase and looked carefully at the 100 watt kit. I even called Renogy about it. The kit only comes with 1.5mm (15awg) cables to the controller. No cables are provided for the controller to the battery. They do have some for sale, they are in a set of two separate wires, 16 feet in both 10 and 12awg.
The bundle kit does comes with a less expensive 30amp controller instead of the more expensive 10 amp controller in the suitcase. The Expensive 10 amp controller can only take 12awg+ and the 30amp controller can take 10amp +wire. That's a plus for using 10awg cable from the controller to the battery. And you can expand panels with that 30amp controller too!
    Good luck!
FYI, I found the 100 watt to be just under what I need daily of 30-40amps and bought an additional 30 watt panel to boost my amps. Remember it's only going to max at 5.29 amps and if you have anything load on during the charging it takes away. I have .6amps being drawn from the fridge and parasitic other stuff all the time. That drops it a lot, that's why I got the additional 30 watt panel.
  • Just asctually read in their store that the only thing missing was teh "tray cable"...they are about $16 extra...thanks all.

Hmmm... I'm not seeing that extra cabling (3') listed in the kits...Guess I will need to contact Renogy about it...

    RENOGY

No, It does not come with the wiring from the controller to the batteries. It does come with 20' of wiring from the panels to controller.

No, that is not the one...The one I'm looking at is about half the price. Appears to be only a difference in the controller.
