I'm on the fence but already planning an install next spring if things work out (I think to keep costs in line you still need to make your own, and while there are kits out there it is not trivial to make your own and the cells are very easy to damage) - wa8yxmExplorer IIIThere is a lot of new and exciting info on the Lithium front.
Prices are dropping in fact they are now in line with Trojan T-105's and should continue to drop farther.
However so far only half the technology is there for the most part in the RV world.. The battery itself.. The Chargers are still a bit .. er... rare (As it happens I have one but I do not trust it).
Now one of my chargers is a Xantrex Prosine 2.0, fully programmable it can be set to charge Lithium batteries of assorted types.. but ... For reasons i would rather not go into I don't trust it (I need more testing before I can comment.
In fact I don't use it for my Flooded wet cells (I use a Progressive Dynamics Intella-power 9180 with wizard).
But not many chargers are that programmable.
And Li batteries get real nasty if not properly charged.
That, howevever, is what companies are working on, making them safer and safer and lower and lower in cost.. I expect soon to be changing over myself . - 2oldmanExplorer II

Incorporating Automatic low voltage disconnects and high voltage disconnects is where the money adds up. The Individual prismatic cells do not really cast all that much.
Some use them without such automatic battery monitoring devices, and simply limit charge voltage and duration manually to keep them outside the 'knees'
What is likely the best thing about them is not needing to reach full charge. Cycling them between 80% and 20% seems to be the best for them.
One needs to unlearn the lead acid mindset of get them full and keep them full. But so many have never learned that mindset, and simply prefer to complain when their lead acid batteries need replacement. - rjsurferExplorer

Agreed, prices are no way near T-105's price range.
I have 2 years on my 4 T-105's and I don't expect to be replace them lead acid again when they die.
