With all the stuff using them, you're dreamin if you think they'll go away any time soon. Myself, I don't mind them a bit, never have trouble w/ them. If you hate them, they will always give you trouble.
But whenever I can, I use the "2 pin" plugs, which are becoming more and more standard,....like on almost all battery chargers.
