You bought a trailer
Any white wires at the battery are most likely ground/negative
Red is hot positive
A black and white pair
The black is hot/positive and white is ground
You might find black and white pairs going to 12 lights water pump etc..
The black will be the positive the white will be the negative
Think hot and neutral only for 12v not 110v
It's odd, it's old, and it's a pita
