The common ATC fuses they use are not available any larger than 40 amps, which is too small for this application. The maxi fuse is quite a bit larger, and would present layout problems.
Ok, I can understand that logic. The converters I'm used to dealing with (industrial, not RV use) commonly use maxi's in the small under 100 amp sizes.
