I am no expert with this but after fighting with plywood for many years I finally got it through my head that the edges were the most vulnerable. It would be a shame to spend all that money only to have water enter through the exposed lamination's and rain on your parade. I think marine plywood might make a better platform to start with and then apply treatment over that.
