I think Mr. Wizard nailed it. You can buy them at most automotive stores in the trailer light section. These are very good connectors and can carry plenty of current. I would clean the connections shiny and bright. Just roll up some sandpaper to clean the female section. Use a bit of wd40 to blow it out with. I would not uses any sealer because you just cannot keep moisture out. Any tiny bit of moisture will evaporate instead of getting trapped. Silicon grease if you really want to use something.
