I wouldn't drill larger than 5/8" for the pin. Even drilling 11/16" will give you a loose fitting pin.
Drill 5/8, then try it, it will likely be ok. If it's a touch tight, run the 5/8 bit in and out a few times. This will knock about a 64th more off the hole and should be ample.
If you absolutely have to go bigger, seek out a 21/32" bit, no bigger.
You don't want it too loose.
Do remember, you can always drill it a bit bigger, but you can't drill it smaller!
