Running AC on battery power

For those days when the pets have to stay in the RV, and the CG charges extra for electricity. Is it safe to unplug the shore power while you're out while leaving the AC on for the pets and then plugging back in when you return? Or will the batteries drain before the end of the day?

  • Rgr, got it. RV must be plugged in to use AC. Thanks for the help. This is why I love this forum so much.
  • IF you are leaving pets in rig unattended.......at least provide them with A/C.
    Pay the extra cost.

Don't know what type/size/number of batteries you have OR IF you even have an 'inverter' but I doubt you have more than two 12V batteries in your FW.

Soooooooo.......No 120V AC power then no Air Conditioner.
  • No, your batteries simply won't handle it for more than a few minutes if the AC even turns on. Your invertor can't handle the load either. Don'teven try it.
