The story about inverted adding power to lacking generator reminds me my friend and his Honda hybrid.
The car has tiny gasoline engine, but electric motor gives it nice boost at green light.
Than on flat driving gasoline engine is adequate for the power.
But here comes the grade and the electric motor comes with the boost, powering the car at good speed adding the power from the batteries.
It works well in most of the occasions, but we do have lot of 1 mile + grades here, where batteries die 1/2 the way up.
Have you seen hybrids on long grades with flashers up?
I understand that Boatycall is just playing with it on the side of carrying close to a ton of batteries and solar panels, but who will do that in order to avoid additional 10 lb of bigger generator?
Inverters are amazing things and for last decade I've been running 15k AC on my conversion solely on inverter while on the road.
But conversion come with 8000 W alternator.
Still took me couple of improvements to keep inverter from overheating.
It sucks to count on machinery who work well in mild weather, but quits when real heat comes on.
Well said.
