RV battery installation

Took my RV to get a new battery, the store took out the old, set the new one in, but did not hook it up. Thus, I have 5 wires to place. The white one is attached to the frame so we know that is the ground. There is also one that has black tape so I assume that attaches to the positive. There is another wire the same guage as that one, it has red tape on it. Where does it go? Then the last two wires are of a larger size, same as the ground. Both have red tape and a small white ring around them. Where do they go? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • I would put all red wires on positive
The wire with black tape I would test by putting a fuse between it and negative
If the fuse does Not blow it most likely goes on negative, do this with everything turned off
Then check for things that don't work before doing the final hookup to negative
Then connect and check the things that did not work with that wire disconnected

Red and white means red pos, white neg
Red and black means red pos, black neg
Black and white means black pos, white neg.

Look for fuses-they are on the positives (except no fuse for the breakaway brake positive to that pull pin)

Positives to go to battery pos:
    -Breakaway brake
    -Slide
    -Jacks
-To power centre (converter and DC fuse panel)
    -7 pin
    -solar controller
    -inverter
    -Trimetric monitor

    Negs to battery neg
    -to frame to power centre
    -solar controller
    -inverter
(or if a Trimetric, those go to the shunt and only the shunt goes to the battery neg)
