I was thinking of using something like this.
Rubber Mulch Mat
All one has to do is roll it out over the lawn and tack it down with landscape spikes if you think it will move. You can put two wheels of a lawn mower on it to maintain the lawn. There's no edging to install to keep gravel in. It's porous. What could go wrong?
