My compressor fridge is good to 16.5v. The only thing I have which protests at 15v+ is my PSW inverter, and i lower the max voltage to 14.9 when I want to run the inverter when my Solar can achieve and hold those voltages.
Some LEDs I bought in 2007 have failed, but they rarely saw the 15.3v and their failure cannot be directly attributed to extreme charging voltages.
I have one fan whose hub gets way too hot when at max speed and voltages over 12.5v. I've had a voltage bucker on it for 6 months now and allow it only 11.5v or so.
