First off, it is obvious that some of you don't read and or understand what a Schwintek type slide is. It is a rack system attached to the sides of the slide. There are 2 or 3 sets of racks attached to the slide that are driven by a set of gears on a vertical shaft at both sides of the slide. Why do I say this because I have 2 sets of the Schwintek type slide systems on my Voltage as do all the other Voltage folks on this forum.
BayouBoys- I had almost the same problem with one of mine. It was stuck in and only one side would move an inch or two and then stop. Had to take it to the dealer. As you know that screw that holds the motors onto the drive shaft is located outside the trailer and always inaccessible if the slide is stuck in. The dealer had to remove the outside framework of the slide to get at the screws for the motors and then was able to get the slide out.
Turns out that one of the motors got water in it and rusted the shaft which stopped it from turning. Also, the new motors are a 50:1 ratio not vs. the original 30:1 ratio.
If the dealer gets yours working, make sure they get the updated motors. The slide will go in and out slower, but at least it should work.
