I just purchased shade screens for my awnings and there is a 1 foot section that is attached to the awning tube and the rest of the shade screen zips on at the length you order. The 1 foot section rolls up with your awning. I ordered mine from Shade Pro. You can order and they will ship it to you. I am pretty happy with the shade screens.
