Self-bubbling Dicor
Last year used Geocel Advanced RV EPDM roof sealant to install solar panel brackets. No problems.
This year brought the renowned self-leveling Dicor roof sealant. It's a little less dense than Geocel, so, naturally, it conforms to horizont-ish level of surface better - this is what's behind big words. I don't mind less dense. But it is also bubbling next day. Photos attached. On the bracket you see "drops" in front - they are bubbles, I feel softer matter under the skin. And another bubble at the left corner.
Another photo is oval plate covering the removed TV mushroom antenna, see bubbles along the left edge. There are more of those - it is bubbling everywhere where there is more than 1/16" coat.
First bracket is on the clean roof, washed thoroughly with dishwashing liquid, then water, then methanol alcohol, then few times "stripping" with Scotch tape - like "waxing" :), this tape picks loose paint and everything else.
TV plate was re-coated over last year Geocel, cleaned with alcohol.
Everything was done just like with Geocel last year.
The temperature was 18C/68F at the time of application yesterday at noon, and same today when it's bubbling.
My guess is that it cures very slowly, and softer matter under the skin releases fumes and/or expanding on a warm roof while curing.
On both items I did my "wet finger" trick for cleaner edge, don't know if this matters. To Geocel it didn't.
