SEWER PIG!

We are camping at full hook up park in Deming NM. The sewer connection is about 5? out of the ground so it was difficult to keep the exit end of the sewer hose in the hole. I’ve seen a commercially available device called a “Sewer Pig” and decided I needed to whip one up.

A sewer pig is simply a sandbag that sits on top of the sewer hose and holds it down.

Two Quart size freezer zip lock bags, a few shovels full of sand and some Gorilla tape and I had a Sewer Pig!

Not sure there are many codes here in the mountains of New Mexico... :-)

For some unknown reason, the thread in adapter I have will not thread into the standing pipe. In fact, the thread in cap won't thread in other than a 1/2 thread. The treads in the standing pipe must be damaged.

It drains just fine as the outlet on the trailer is higher than the standing pipe. But there is a bit of water left in the drain pipe after the tanks are emptied. Need to disconnect from trailer and lift up the end and "walk the pipe" to empty it.

It did look cross-threaded to me. I thought maybe my chair had a short leg or something when I looked at it.

There actualy is a product caled a Sewer Pig. it is a plastic bottle holds about a gallon of water (8 pounds) shaped like a pig, assorted colors and the bottom is designed to the "legs" of the pig fit over the sewer hose outlet/nozzle and hold it in the ground.

There is also a product called as I recal HOSE BUDDY. same concept but it is more "Block" shaped.. i have one of those. The Pig is simply the same product but cuter.
