JR - yes, EQ-ing is what I like in Meanwell. Probably the only thing that I would need it for. I'm not fond of modern disposable culture, but car battery manufacturers are putting me in a difficult situation - a new battery costs mere $70 and is readily available within a few miles. Keeping it alive for 8 years rather than 3 makes sense, but babying it with DIY custom-made electronics and adjustable setpoints - not so much. Call me lazy, but Meanwell-PWM combo I consider a borderline.
I hear what Mex is saying, and in Mexico my approach would've been different. There is often no battery store for several hundred miles around there (sometimes - no any hardware store at all, you have to see it to believe), and a working battery is worth its weight in gold, it's a lifeline.
