I have 12V on the out wire when switch is pushed, have nothing on the IN wire. Left multi meter on the out wire, pushed switch to IN, and got 12V.Now that should not have happened. So I then went to the switch, put a jumper on the 12V and hooked it to the out wire, and the slide went out, hooked the 12V jumper to the IN wire nothing.

Seems like you are not getting contact with battery neg on the IN side of the switch? It is very confusing, so no idea if that is really it! :(
