Slide out motor problem

The motor that pushes out my slide was connected to the interior wall of the TT with 4 1/4 in sheet metal screws. That actually lasted 7 years before they pulled out. I did a temporary fix by using 5/16 screws, but what is the permanent fix?

Hollow wall anchors might work, but are they strong enough? The hollow part of the wall is 1 inch, some anchors need more than that. Some anchors need the wall to be at least 1/8 in thick, this is less than that. So what would hold?

Well you can up with a common solution.
  • Unfortunately, I can’t get to the back side. The solution may be to screw the motor to a plate of some kind and then screw it to the wall with more than four screws.
  • If you can get to the back side of the wall, then thru bolt and put a metal plate on the back side. One of those reinforcing thin metal nailing plates would work. For extra points epoxy the plate to the wall
