Slide problem

I have a problem with my slide that the dealer can't seem to fix. It has been to the shop 5-6 times for this. Anyone have an idea what's up.

Ah heck, we all know what the problem is but we're keeping it a secret. :)

If it's been to your dealer "5 - 6 times" and he can't fix it what are the odds anyone here will have any idea, particularly when all we have to work with is a brief video and no description whatsoever as to what make / model of slide mechanism you have? Since your dealer doesn't seem to be able to help contact the rig manufacturer.

    Geesh. :R

done that feel on deaf ears

Doug, Listen for the snap/grind sound just before you hear the clutch ratcheting.

That's what the problem is just before its fully open.

  • Sounds similar to what my large slide would do but I got most of my noise when starting in. What was happening in my case was when the slide was fully extended it would sag just enough that the upper edge of the slide would actually extend under the cutout in the sidewall catching on it. I solved my problem by attaching a flat piece of metal to the back side of the upper slide lip extending it high enough so that it limited on the wall and keeps it from catching.

  • The noise at the end sounds like breaking wood. it is going all the way in and out. and this is the only slide making that noise.
  • is it extending all the way; retracting all the way; crabbing in or out; the noise at the end????
