slideout awning detachment

I want to get to my slide out roof without removing the fabric on the awning, is there a way I can detach thee hardware on the slide and let it lay on the roof while I do some caulking? I've seen the videos for replacing the fabric, I just need to get to the outside edge of the slideout roof, have some water coming in and I 'm pretty sure it is from the slide roof
