slideouts on a Jayco TT

I have had 2 Jayco Eagles...while we love the camper, we have had problems with our slideouts. The first trailer, the drive would lock up, which is no problem. just break it loose with a 5/8" wrench. But our brand new trailer, the slide out will not come back in. motor and gearbox turn, but not engaging the screw drive to move the slideout. Has anyone else had these issues? What was the remedy, if you did.
