There are 12v circuit breakers, some self-resetting (could be what you are seeing), some not. Also can be a straight fuse on the positive 12v wire to the battery bank that is for the slides. You can have a second red wire to the battery pos that is just for slides.
If self-resetting action, can't think why. Maybe somebody else can.
The switch wiring is tricky. Get the wiring diagram for your switch from the Lippert website or whatever brand slides you have. You will want to jumper the right wires to see if the slides work properly that way, by-passing the switch.
One obvious thing to check is the white ground wire that goes from switch to RV frame. Check the frame connection end of that.
