Excellent. I'll invest in thirty-two foot ladders.
The only way to discourage illegals, is to force companies to demand proper ID proving the legality of hiring. Illegal hire...ten thousand dollars. Illegal employment? Do like they do down here -- seize everything they own and put them on the bus for the border.
Fact is, I really don't care to have Mil-Spec traceability in every atom of every component. Panasonic for instance makes better capacitors in Japan than any but Mil-Spec US companies. US companies make better quality transformer laminations than anyone else and Phelps Dodge wire varies bare microns in a 10,000 foot roll.
Electro Switch makes the best switch and Intermatic makes the best mechanical timer. TI transistors and Ic's are superior but I can give a ratz pattootie if resistors comes from India or Iceland. As long as they do the job.
The OBJECT is to buy something that isn't Chew & Spit. To sand and mask off a really old charger to freshen it with a new coat of paint warms my heart. The Borg has outlasted many Chinese chargers, and when I go back and update the internals it will last longer than me.

Being I am away from home, I couldn't superlative test the Lifeline. Yesterday at Francisco's place I used a ship's power unit with the 31 at 12.2 volts and guess what...?
Three ammeters verified the battery took inrush amperage of 273 yes TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY THREE AMPERES to saturate voltage charge to 14.46 volts. It maintained 250+ amperes for the ten minutes under the exercise. Upon disconnect the terminal posts were cool.
So, it's time to start recalculating battery charging elapsed times. I had a feeling the low impedance would make the Lifeline different than other batteries, but here, I am 1700 miles distant from my machinery.
So that 100/80 charger is going to work like it is designed to charging a pair of 8-D Lifelines.
Before someone gets ALL wound up over this, I suggest reading the Lifeline manual -- the part where it says the Lifeline can accept FIVE TIMES It's Amp Hour Rating in initial charging amperes. 105 amp hours, 525 amps. The 8-D Lifelines are in the neighborhood of 225 amp hours. To saturate charge a pair of them would tax my Kubota.
Meanwhile back at the Ranch, I have 4 90 lb unused 9 volt center tap 18 volt phase to phase transformers back home sealed in cosmoline. Going to be interesting to diddy-bop with plating rectifiers and another snap-action Electro Switch. Too many amps for an Intermatic timer -- Will have to connect it to a contactor.
