This reminds me of the poor student's hot dog cooker we had at university residence where no cookers were allowed. One 120 volt cord with alligator clips on the wires. Attach to two forks borrowed from the cafeteria and stick the tines into opposite ends of the hot dog. The impedance of a hot dog fit the 120 volts surprisingly well.
