Please .... explain to me again very carefully why you don't want one of these spectacular vintage small portable Weber BBQs with their flavor bars under the grill area that collect all the grease drippings over the years so that any meat cooked on them really tastes more and more BBQewy each and every time the BBQ is used:

We have a couple of them ... bought one new centuries ago and bought another one hardly used at a garage sale for $15 a few years back. You can buy parts for Weber BBQs forever (unlike other "off brands") so that you can keep one going forever.
We use it with the ultra-safe and ultra-compact little green 1 lb. propane bottles that cost around $2.50 each at Walmart. One of those little green 1 lb. propane bottles will run that little Weber grill for many cycles - a big ole' 20 lb. propane bottle is not required and no hookups or generator is required.
You can of course even use one of those high tech high temperature reusable grill pads on them to cook other stuff that is not suitable for the grill bars:
