MEXICOWANDERER
May 11, 2016Explorer
Twelve dollars a pop for the 1 lb bottles. I do have a POL to bottle hose re-fill unit in Michoacan but not here. The cylinder gets inverted to access liquid. The bottle rests on a scale, tare is set and filling stops just short of a pound.
I want this critter for Guatemala where bottles do not exist and I may be cooking near a hotel room window. In Michoacan I use guisache firewood and a fire pit except during the wet season. Even a stand up $3,000 stainless steel briquet burner is going to have a hard time in a 60 kPh afternoon "breeze"
I had a Weber down there. Then the shutoff valve started leaking gas through to the burner. Gas - gone! Unscrew the bottle and gas leaks out of the bottle. Into the junk pile it went.
Pluggerin and get cookin' is for me! At least while on the road.
