David ... aren't good old 20 lb. propane bottles kindof/maybe/approximately available "everywhere on Earth" in the 21st century? I wrongly or rightly assume that even Third World folks use plenty of them in their grass/mud/plywood huts for heating and cooking.
If so, just permanently take ownership of a few 1 lb. bottles for carrying along tucked away in the nooks and crannies of your vehicle to places like Guatemala - along with a little grill.
Back at home keep refilling your permanent stash of 1 lb. bottles with this:
