- AlmotExplorer IIIOP - it depends on what you want.
12V are weak, max 100W, and have short cord.
Rechargebables can be TAD more powerful, and there is added inconvenience/cost of battery, either it needs charging before you finish or stops holding charge after a season, or both. Any of those in $20-30 range on Amazon will do, there is not much difference, it's all China.
120V - plenty of choice, in RV I would go for something that can do wet vacuuming, like Shop Vac (or others mentioned here).
Since you want it small, you won't get a good powered head with beater brush, so carpets or pet hair on uphosltery can be a problem. It's the same as with home vacs - either big and good for most tasks (stick, canister with powered head etc), or smalller and good for some tasks, or small and limited usefulness. - Smallest Craftsman (2 gal?) shop vacuum is what I use.
Ready for wet clean up if needed. - Travel2buildExplorerShark liftaround best bang for buck and small enough to put anywhere.
- christopherglenExplorerLowes has a "Shop-Vac 2.5-Gallon 2.5-HP Peak-HP Shop Vacuum"
I got one for the boat, runs of a 10 year old 1800 watt inverter to pick up broken chips (kids) and inflate / deflate towables. It is a little on the large side VS dustbusters, but works well for sucking or blowing. - oldbeekExplorerI use a 1 gallon shop vac. 120 volt. I want suction not a toy. Screwed a square MDF base on it so it won't tip easily and a Bail handle for ease of carrying and a 6 foot hose. Could be built into basement with plumbing to living areas.
- Tom_AndersonExplorerI have one of those hand-held Dirt Devil vacuums with the beater brush and it's a joke. The "beater brush" isn't even powered. The air going through it makes it spin when you lift it up but as soon as you put it back down, the brush stops. You get what you pay for.

Cordless. Bagless. Sears sells them, too. It's got a hand vac built into it...that's actually the motor. (You take the hand vac part of it outside and empty it.)
It's not big enough or strong enough to be able to run more than 10 minutes but you can clean the floor in the TC in less than 10 minutes. We LOVE ours. We have the orange one. The black one is a little more powerful but a little harder to clean hair out of the brushes.
I installed toe charger stand in the cupboard so the vacuum is always ready when you need it. Our was from Costco $85.00 delivered. - handye9Explorer II
- BumpyroadExplorerRyobi 18 volt rechargeable. can use battery on many different tools.
