Also, bad info presented about relationship of panel voltage to voltage of battery bank. Anyone, as long as the controller is rated high enough, can use a 36V module with a 12 V battery bank. With PMW, you'll be leaving some amps on the table but their corollary doesn't follow.
true, but a 36-40V, a typical 24V panel with PWM and 12 v bank is going to give you about 1/2 the current a 18V-20, the typical 12V panel will give you. so I'd call that more than some amps.
