Solar as battery maintenance during storage - opinions

BTW, I was being sarcastic, in regards to gen run time, (if anyone was wondering). But I do know I didn't enjoy running the gennie 3-4 hours, even every other day, while full time boondocking. Probably wouldn't have bothered me as much if only dry camping occasionally.

But seriously, how does one use un-regulated solar to maintain their batteries?
