Solar panel height off roof

Hi All; I saw a picture of CaTraveler's solar panels above a vent fan. First question, for CaTraveler, how high is that? Second question for all is, what would be the max height you could mount solar panels? I thought I saw a motorhome going in the opposite direction in SoCal with panels raised over his rear air conditioner.

    Can anyone post a picture or link of what were talking about in terms of "lifted" panel mount?

    Hi,

    My panels are a flat install on a curved roof. Clearance in the middle is about 1 inch. Clearance at the edges is quite a bit more.

    I'm fortunate to have heat and shade tolerant UniSolar panels that do not incorporate glass from a company that is gone forever.

    You do not want to plaster a 150 degree panel directly against a roof. Unless of course your name is Pianotuna and it's the day before Christmas. My dream is to shade Quicksilver with panels, while I'm inside weighing gold bars.

    HEAT...reduces power
    mine are too close to the roof (only 1" or so), 3" or more is good
    you need "air circulation" to help cool the panels and the roof

    Why would you need to raise them? Mine are mounted directly on top of the rubber roof
